The race.
The American Mile takes place on July 4, 2026, in Longport, NJ, featuring a 1-mile point-to-point race plus a virtual run option. The race starts at 6:30 p.m. at 11th Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, running north on Atlantic Avenue to the finish at Pelham Avenue. Packet pickup and bib/shirt collection occur at the Longport Fire House (2305 Atlantic Ave) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Registration closes July 4 at 5 p.m.; advance pricing is $20 for adults and $15 for children (10 and under) through June 20. Race day pricing is $25 for adults and $20 for children. All finishers receive a t-shirt. Awards go to the top 3 male and female overall finishers and to the top 3 in age groups ranging from 11–14 through 80+.
