Beginner Sailing September 5/6 2026

Two-day sailing instruction takes place September 5–6, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fiddler's Cove Marina in San Diego. Classes are open to eligible MWR patrons and sponsored guests age 16 and older; dependents' fees match the sponsoring active duty or retiree rate. Registration includes boat rental, instruction, and textbooks, with one to four students per boat depending on boat size, conditions, and skills. Participants receive a Navy Sailing Qualification Card upon completion. A valid California Boater Card or course completion certificate is required before the first class; free online safety certification is available through BoatUS.org. Pre-registration is required, and study materials are available at the boathouse.
