About the race
The race.
The New Yorker 10K and 5K takes place September 26, 2026, at Riverside Park in New York. Runners choose between a 5K (one loop) or 10K (two loops) course. Water stations with water, Gatorade, and electrolyte gels are positioned approximately every 1.5 miles. Race day packet pickup runs from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. Finishers receive a commemorative technical shirt, die cast medal with colored ribbon, and post-race bagels with spreads. Top three finishers overall and in each age group (14–19, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70+) receive awards plaques, with preliminary results posted around 10 a.m. and an awards ceremony from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
